“I can see you with me when I’m older, All my lonely nights are finally over.
You took the weight of the world off my shoulders”
- Shania Twain
My quote today is from mine and James’ wedding song… because today is our 2nd wedding anniversary. I remember going crazy when we were wedding planning, looking for the perfect wedding song. I remember sitting down every time we were visiting my husbands parents, and listening to their CD collection as well as any other random song they thought would be good to use (at MAX volume and surround sound mind you)…. We listened to every ballad every sung by Kenny Rogers, Barry Mannilow, and even at one point Andre Bocchelli. None of them seemed perfect, and well Andre Bocchelli? I just kinda felt maybe we should understand our wedding song? Call me difficult, hard to please. ;)
Then one day we randomly heard “When you kiss me” by Shania Twain and it was instantly perfect! Its not extreamly lyrical, with deep wordy verses, but just that one line quoted above… it wrapped up all my feelings in one… still does. I love it!
James and I decided not to go crazy for this wedding anniversary- times are tough (VOTE OBAMA !), how do you like my subliminal messaging there? ha
So we sent each other stuff during the day.. and being our Cotton Anniversary… (Yes, folks, just when you think youre “paper anniversary” is the most bland tradition ever, someone thought of COTTON!) I’m trying to think of things to give him.. not sure if Im going to go practical- like a shirt or something, or funny — like Q-tips.
If I had readers, I’d say – leave me comments on your most creative cotton gifts and check back in a few hours and have a good laugh… o well.. maybe next year for our LEATHER anniversary (hey at least the gifts are getting a little more exciting)
Anyway, I have to decide whether I’m packing the kids up &;go to the gym.. or stay home, finish laundry and bake a cute cake for later.
