MORE

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season piled on top of my everyday stress and/or frustrations I have been trying SO very hard to take DEEP breathes throughout the day to try and make the day as calm as possible.

When Princess is down for a nap, I set His Majesty up in his playroom with his afternoon snack along with some juice… and I go across hall to the living room to try to sneak in some “ME TIME”… which ideally will consists of nothing but silence for AT LEAST 5 minutes.

…and IT NEVER FAILS… as soon as I get comfy on the couch, muscles start to relax, & the brain starts thinking peaceful thoughts I hear screams of “MORE JUICE”… or  ”MORE SNACK”…. and SOMETIMES (and this is my personal favorite)he will ask for MORE, before he actually needs MORE!”When I finish this, then I will have more”..What is the appeal? Is my kid just ridiculously greedy? (and btw, has this child’s parents ever taught him the word PLEASE? I know they have… why does he not use it!?!?)
Even if I tell him, do not ask for more.. he asks for more.  ITS SO FRUSTRATING.I’m trying, I am trying REALLY hard… and I will get it.. I will get that peace Im seeking…when I find the magic recipe I will let you know.
Well my “ME TIME” window has been slammed shut on me once again with requests of “MORE“… and now the Princess has awoken from her slumber.

Here’s to better luck tomorrow!

Ah yes, “Adult time outs” are FABULOUS!!! No, great motherly advise from me (no kids yet, unless you count the 36-year-old one. LOL.) But, hang in there. My prayers and best wishes go out to you that this is just a passing phase for your little man.

The elf on the shelf is real and I don’t believe anything
You say about the elf on the shelf. But those
    Are very creative ideas.
