The Great Christmas Lights Debate

This morning, Mr Complicated informed me that he would like to use this weekend’s nice weather to put up our Christmas Lights— so that his precious little fingers and ears dont have to freeze…

Personally, I think its a tad on the early side and that he is being a woman… (and “I say this with l-o-v-e, love”) … but weigh in on our debate….

What do you think?

    Popping in from SITS!

    I voted no!

I usually wait until at least Thanksgiving if I am hosting dinner and we'll do it together as a family. That's when the tree goes up as well. It's an old tradition and it all comes down on New Year's Day!

thats ususally the tradition here too— but this year it seems someone is a little afraid of the cold

    Ha ha!

Just because they are UP doesn't mean they have to be ON.

I am totally putting ours up this weekend because *I* don't want to freeze either!

    found you through SITS> :)

Actually, tell your husband thank you because I think I'm going to take his advice and get mine up too! I won't turn them on until Thanksgiving though. :)

I say if you want to put your lights up, go for it. There is someone on a street near ours who has had his lights AND his red and green ribbon up since last year. He doesn't take his sled and Santa down until Easter. I think it's better to have it up early than keep it up late.

Thanks for visiting today. You may be able to find used copies of my book through Amazon. That's why I decided to blog my secret. You can find them in my Blog Archive. My book is out of print. Blessings!

The only way that's acceptable in our little family, is if he gets them off the house the day after New Year!

I say YES! Go for it! You don't have to turn them on until the day after thanksgiving but doing it now to avoid freezing totally makes sense. Dave and I were just talking about doing that too. Although our house is so far from the road, unless they are on, nobody even notices they are there!

I voted no. Because I like the 'man-up' idea. ;)

BUST EM OUT! Shoot it's never to early to decorate for the holidays. I'm usually decorated, tree and all and all presents bought by the day after Thanksgiving. LOL

That’s funny I was thinking like Mr. Complicated myself, lol. I think it’s still going to be warm at Thanksgiving so wait we will.
