Oh the weather outside is frightful… no really, it is.

its_snow_funnyThe weathermen are predicting this crazy storm for the east coast this weekend… first it was rumored to be 6″… then a foot… and NOW? 18-22 inches!

We all know how nutty these meteorologists are, I’m convinced they sometimes just flip a coin and cross their fingers before they go on air… but it would figure this time, the last shopping weekend before Christmas- they’re right.

This shopping season has been a nightmare. Normally I do a lot on the internet but since we caught so many sales at the outlets by us last year- we decided this year would be ALL outlets. Except this year, they had nothing.

So now with snow on the way, I ran out to not only stock the house up and get the kids ready to be bundled up like never before in their lives… but to do the impossible… Finish all of my shopping ( and there was a lot) done in 2 hours before the snow started.

I got a lot of it done, but still not all.

I have to be honest. I’m not a snow person. It looks pretty and all, but then people mess it up and cars slush through it and in the end its just a big pile of grossness.. that usually lasts in mall parking lots til sometime APRIL. I have no idea how, but the parking lots in malls somehow magically preserve mounds of dirty snow far longer than anywhere else in the world.

Don’t get me wrong, snow days aren’t all bad. The kids LOVE it and I love watching them love it… and it gives you time to do things around the house that you’ve been putting off… like painting our son room over. We’ve been planning that since August!

And baking, wrapping organizing… but eventually its time to do the dreaded…. shovel.

this morning, Mr.Complicated went to get the snow blower all set to do its thing… all to realize we lost the key for the snow blower.. so its virtually useless. Why would a snow blower need a key?!? Is it just me?.. or this is silly? Oh, well– I suppose its going to be a very tiring weekend for Mr.Complicated who will be doing all the manual shoveling.

… what?? I’ll make him some hot cocoa!… I’m not heartless you know!

To see more about our snowed in weekend follow my whrrl story… never know what a snow weekend can bring.

I have to admit that I’m a little jealous – I wish that we were getting at least a few inches of your snow!! We were slammed with snow around this time last year and I loved it!
I also wanted to say thank you so much for any prayers to St Anthony you may have said today… my wedding ring has been found and is back where it belongs… on my finger!!

I agree…I too think the weather folks just flip a coin and hope for the best. I was sure they were wrong when they started shouting numbers like 12, 18 and 24…this is snow – not GOLD! Alas, we ended up with a good 22 inches…ugh! Enjoy the snowy craziness!!

Can I just tell you I dropped my son off at pre-school this AM and the roads are STILL horrible?! The snow is so pretty when it falls and you are inside, but when you have to get out and drive, it’s so lame.

Have a wonderful holiday Complicated Mama!!!

Raising hand, big time. Sadly, it’s only December – I’ve got a long way to go.

It “snowed” in Houston a couple of weeks ago. Obviously, you would have considered it to be light rain.
