Mr.Complicated is a STEEL-er. What Kind of Sharpie are you?

Sharpie Squad 2010

Before I explain the title of this post- let me start by saying those of you who follow my Tweets or Facebook page (which should be all of you -clearly ) may have noticed my once toon avatar has changed to this fun new Sharpie Sketch. I was provided a new avatar from the folks at Sharpie for being part of their 2010 Sharpie Squad and I truly cannot tell  you how excited I am to be working on this project for several reasons-

Side note: Taylor- I love you but who hold's their sharpie like that?

1 – Sharpie is glamorous- Have you ever seen a celebrity at a signing with a maker that did not have the Sharpie logo on it?  Didn’t think so.

Back in the day when Mr.Complicated was working many meet and greets with recording artists, he always carried a fresh new pack of Sharpies with him…. and many (many) ended up finding a place in our home after wards (See post title).

Today celebrities don’t tote just ANY Sharpie though- they have stainless steel Sharpies, personalized Sharpies, and though I’ve yet to see a “blinged out” Sharpie- I can totally see it in the future.

… Did I mention Sharpie is providing me with my very own Personalized Sharpie? (They must have heard that I hang with Martha and Sherrie) I’m pretty sure having my own personalized Sharpie makes me as fabulous as Taylor Mariah Oprah.

2- Sharpie has made my husband the cool guy at work- (see post title) Not that Mr.Complicated wasn’t cool before (nooo)… but everyone needs their conversation piece  at work right? Some are the candy suppliers, some are the office nurses storing Advil for all, My husband for the past several months has been the guy with the cool Rubik’s Touch Cube … that is until we were delivered Stainless Steel Sharpies- Now he’s the guy with the cool Sharpie. He has taken some of his favorites (that I was sent) to show off use at work. Then just yesterday, a company Executive asked him to steal borrow one from my stash! Imagine?!? …. Hello! people- get your own Sharpies!

I can hear my husband name dropping now “Yea, thats right- my wife is on the Sharpie Squad” ((insert collar pop)) … (see reasons I love Sharpie #1)

4- Sharpie is great for organizing- and God knows I can use all of that as I can get ;) With my Rubadub Sharpies I’ve labeled my kids clothes, toys, schoolbags, foreheads. everything.

3- Sharpie creativity is endless- When I was first asked to join the Sharpie Squad I thought I would wow them with my use of my Paint Sharpies that I often use to personalize glass items- like this favor I made for a party-

Little did I know the other crazy talent they recruited on this squad! …

Hello- a Sharpie’d refrigerator? Sharpie’d Car designs?  What?

I would start attempting to keep up with these amazing artists and make masterpieces of my own- but it would be embarrassing-

The SuperHero Squad... clearly.

So I’ll leave the Sharpie Drawings to The Complicated Boy who designed

his very own wrapping paper for his Nana & Papa’s 32nd wedding anniversary…. –>

Everyone say “Awww”

(See if I drew this- it probably would have looked the same but would not have gotten quite the same reaction)

This year you can look forward to various posts where I will share some of the coolest ways people have used Sharpies as well as how I’ve been using my Sharpies in my life (if Mr.Complicated leaves me any!)

So I leave you with this question: Clearly, we can see that Mr.Complicated is a Sharpie Stealer Steel-er… What kind of Sharpie are you?

Disclosure: I am participating in a promotional program with Sharpie. I was not monetarily compensated for this participation but was provided with products to review.

I like the ultra narrow sharpies. I used them to write thank you notes (on photos) for my son's first birthday present. It worked marvelously!

I can't believe your husband stole your pen … your Sharpie! I don't know a whole lot about Sharpies – i do know that they are what celebrities use mostly for autographs though and that makes it cool in my books :D

Since my husband is an ex (well, he will argue the “ex” part) rock star, he has always used Sharpies on everything! I guess it's just habit from the “signing autograph days”. We have tons of them.

Anyway…another great use for Sharpies that I just discovered is in place of wine charms. Just use a Sharpie to write your name on your wine glass and it comes right off when you wash it. Worked great for a wine-tasting party I recently had!

I don't know what kind of Sharpie that makes me….maybe a Sharpie wino?

I only wish my toddler were not so attracted to Sharpies since he colors everything from tables to his baby sister with them. Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be watching him.

PS – I”ll be awaiting my Sharpie Xmas tree decoration in the mail…love.
