Ending The Summer with Lunchables 'Created By You' Play date

The sun is setting earlier, the weather is cooling down, and here in NJ it has been cold and rainy- for THREE days!

The Lunchables “Created By You” Party that I was asked to host for my neighbors and family couldn’t have come at a better time.

Lunchables At Home Created By You Party

If you are reading this site for a while, you may notice that I work with Lunchables often. Its not only because my son enjoys their products from time to time, but because they are one of most caring brand teams I’ve had the pleasure of working with. They’re always using the feedback they get to improve their products and are always looking to give kids the opportunity to do things they love to do, which always makes their campaigns so much fun.

Similar to their Lunch, Roar and Score contest (remember this? ) – where kids got the chance to take part in an outdoor adventure with Jeff Corwin, The Created By You contest was designed to help kids realize their big-pie-in-the-sky dreams and have the chance to be mentored by a pro. … Like Joe Jonas- Take it away, Joe—

At our “Created by you” party, we had 10 kids…. well actually, 10 kids, 4 infants (1 set of twins), and 9 adults but who’s counting when you’re having fun?

Together we got to tap into our creative side and created original canvas paintings with our kids. It was magical to see through this activity how the kids were realizing their dreams, as they themed their paintings with images of ballet, football, and nature.

While our paintings dried, the kids tried out the new Lunchables- Cheese Pizza and Chicken Strips with Mandarin Oranges, Spring water with flavor packets & rice crispy treats. Personally, I can’t eat cheese pizza cold- but the kids LOVED it- it was by far the most popular of the 2.

As Moms we’re always faced with the challenge of “Yes, the kids love it- but is it healthy for them?” So it was nice to see in addition to the spring water and healthy snack, they also made some changes to make the meals a little healthier too (24% less sodium, 22% less fat, 21% less calories)

After lunch we did another activity for Lunchable’s lunch note promise campaign, where we worked with our kids on creating a note card with inspirational messages on them.

This is the second year for the Lunch Note Promise Campaign, which donates $1 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America for every person who takes the Lunch Note Promise, promising to include a lunch note in their child’s lunch this year. It’s so simple and supports such a great group– so what are you waiting for?- take the pledge.

Very cool! My oldest is a huge Lunchables fan too, and considering he has a lot of food allergies and often can't eat the hot lunch at school, they are super handy when I don't feel like making him a lunch. It's a win-win!!

This is the first year I'll be making lunch for my son at school- so I'm
