Get your Weight Watchers Points Plus questions answered!

This post was originally going to be titled “Caught Redhanded At Toy Fair” because while at Toy Fair this past week I was approached by several people asking “So, how is Weight Watchers going?” Usually these encounters happened right happen after I finished eating some sort of fried passed hor’derve (which in my defense was all I ate all day soooo, I am pretty sure made each small appetizer about a point each ;) ) and then it happened- at Lego. I was approached by a sweet lady who asked me about my Points Plus Journey- while I was eating A BROWNIE. I felt like Kirsty Ally getting her photo taken eating a icecream cone after  shooting a Jenny Craig commercial.

{insert guilt here}

There was no way I could justify a brownie (or the french fries with the girls before that). Truly- there was food every where you turned and I mean hello? Who can turn down a Cake Boss cake?

I Spy with my little eye- someone cheating on Weight Watchers.

But when Esther came over to me (and my brownie)…. I thought “what am I doing?”

I worked hard taking 4-5 Zumba classes a week and counting points to lose 5 lbs in one month. I wasn’t thrilled with “only” 5 lbs, but I sure as hell was even less pleased thinking about how I may have just threw that away for convenience & temptation during a trade show.

I am not weighing myself this week because it will only get me down. I know I didn’t lose- so I will just chug along and hope for more will power next week.

Sometimes it takes some time to get in the groove of a diet- and that is ok as long as you keep trying. I think this time around – for me at least, it is because I do Weight Watchers Online (and I really only use my phone app) so I don’t fully  ”GET” the new plan. And when you don’t get something, you are easier to just give up, give in and cheat. Its a vicious cycle- but I am not ready to throw in the towel just yet because I still  believe in Weight Watchers because of my past success.

I know many of you have experienced this- I’ve read your comments, spoke to you on Twitter, through emails and in person. So I got in contact with Weight Watchers for us! and they have agreed to do a Q&A session here on the site!

Submit Your Points Plus Questions!

Leave your questions in the comment area.

I will be taking questions through next Wednesday 2/23 and submitting 10 questions to Weight Watchers.

I am planning on posting the answers the week of 2/28.

I too dont understand the need for the new WW plan. IF WW worked so well for people why change it? What’s the purpose of the WW Points Plus+?

I LOVE that you got in touch with them. My only question/complaint is that the etools are cut off for me on my computer. It’s a tech issue, but it’s really annoying and I can’t actually press enter so sometimes the food doesn’t get added. So, I eat more and gain weight. Guess it is a food issue after all.

While the WW documentation talks about how the carb/fat/protein/fiber content affects weight, I also read over and and over that weight loss comes down to calories in, calories out. Does WW’s research really reveal that all calories are not equal?

I would like to know if one way (the old way vs. the new way) is PROVEN to work better. I feel like what I’ve been doing for years was/is far simplier. Just curious what was behind the change and if one is really better than the other. I would also LOVE to hear someone discuss the “muscle weighs more than fat” issue because I’ve been reading that a pound is a pound, whether its fat or muscle. Its just that a pound of at LOOKS worse than a pound of muscle.

I hear that, it stinks to have that feeling of being caught in the act! :( But good for you on the 5lbs down!

And hey, these kind of fried insanity events only happen once in a while, right? We all need to let ourselves splurge.

We should to to IRL meetings together. I’m such a cheater now that I’m doing it online. Also, their Droid app kinda sucks so I’m not even doing the online version very well. Thank God for Zumba.
