Last week I made a big decision. A big decision that turned out to be {way} bolder than I anticipated. I made an appointment to get hair extensions.
My hair has been chin-legth-ish since I was 15 years old. Had I known then that my hair grew at the rate of a dial-up modem, I may have made different decisions, but I didn’t. So since 1995 I have been caught in a cycle of growing my hair out to that weird “what the hell do I do it it?” length and cutting it.
I’ve been romancing the idea of extensions for years now, but a.) they’ve always seemed too pricey and b.) my hair is really fine and I was afraid I’d end up bald. But after a friend and I spoke about her experience with extension, I came across Hot Head Hair Extensions that are made specifically for fine hair and can be used for up to a year {making the up-keep way more affordable}. So I said… you know what? It’s my Christmas present! (What did you get for Christmas Corine? … Oh, I got hair.)
And although it was not my intent to look like I was going into the witness protection program, after 6 hours of failed color correction (I was blonde, I was brown, I was red)– I ended up going back to dark… And viola!
Merry Christmas to me.
When I walked in the house afterwards my son said to me “Woah! Mom- Did they brush your hair and sing to it?”
Admittedly it probably was a bit creepy for my kids at first to think of it in a Rapunzel kind of way- but I think I kinda love it. I’ll do a vlog all about it next week for those who are curious to know the deets.
{Hot Heads totally did not sponsor this btw- though I would have welcomed it if they did}
