Anyone who has a child enrolled in Little League (or any sport for that matter) knows how very invaluable it can be for a child to have a great coach. Our children’s coaches can ultimately influence their love of sports as well as build confidence.
Kids sports are important for many reasons, but there needs to be a balance– and, for me? Fun should always remain on top. Our first experience with organized sports was a little rocky. Protective of my little one, only 5 at the time I was concerned with long – breakless- 90 minute practices going past 7:30pm. My concern was the coach was going to take the fun out of it by overworking the kids. Thankfully, he proved me wrong.
This past year, my son had an amazing coach that was the perfect mixture of focused, disciplined and fun! The kids knew what he expected of them, they respected him, and they also loved getting to play the game with him at practices! We are praying we are blessed with that same coach next season.

From now until June 13, 2012, parents can nominate their favorite coach on the Hilton HHonors Facebook page for a chance to win a two-night stay at any property within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio. The winning coach will receive a trip for two to the Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Pa. in August, 2012, to throw out a ceremonial first pitch at a game, along with a five-night stay at a hotel of their choice within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio.
Nominations will be accepted until June 13, 2012, after which five finalists will be announced on the Hilton HHonors Facebook page. Fans are encouraged to leave comments of support for their favorite finalists. Coaches from any division of Little League are eligible. The grand prize winner will be selected by Hilton HHonors and Little League and notified in advance before being flown to the Little League Baseball World Series, where he or she will be officially announced live at the beginning of a game.
