So while the house is quiet, I decided to catch up on my View watching. As I mentioned, I am participating in a Brand Ambassador program with The View- and this week being super crazy busy- I’m behind.

Today I watched Tuesday and Wednesdays shows with Ricky Gervais, The Cast of The Jersey Shore and Natalie Suleyman .

GREAT shows! I love watching the women go back and forth with opposing opinions.

The kids from The Jersey Shore were on Tuesday– and BOY did Whoppi– and JOY especially let them have it!

Today Joy passed comments of  “they can park my car any time”  and “Snooki you fake italian” when recapping the interview with  Barbara (who was absent for that particular show).

Whoppi ‘s main point was that their 15 minutes of fame is going to be fleeting and wanted to know what their plan was for their futures. To little to no surprise none of them really had a concrete answer for this- only feeding Whoopi and Joy’s points.

While I have talked about in my post on my personal Jersey Shore experience,

I don’t agree with a lot about the show and how it’s being glamorized- However, a 10 year plan at 20? 22?… I have to stand up for them here and say at that age- I don’t know that me or ANY of my friends for that matter had a 10.. or even a 5 year plan. At that age you’re all about just figuring life out– and doing what they’re doing!… ok, well maybe not to that extreme- but you know what I’m saying.

What do you think?… is that question fair to criticize a 20 year old about? Did you have a 10 year plan at that age? What was it– and did you stick to it??

Disclosure: I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for ABC Daytime and will receive a tote bag or other The View branded items to facilitate my review.

I don't think it matters much whether you have a plan to or not at 20- the odds of things going exactly according to it are going to be slim!! Great post, Happy Friday :)
  • very good point! Happy Friday to you too!! :)

At 20, I wasn't able to even IMAGINE being 30, nevermind what I would be doing! At 20, the only thing I was sure of was that I wanted to find "the right guy" to marry and have a family..eventually.
  • EXACTLY! ... the keyword being "eventually".... and eventually didnt
necessarily mean 5 or even 10 yrs. (Though for me it did play out in 5)
  • Hmm...not sure but those Jersey Shore folks look a little ridiculous! Congrats on your The View ambassador gig!

  • Thanks! So glad I found you through ThetaMom!

and yes- the Jersey shore kids are a bit much.
  • Seriously? At 20, there is no way you can have a 10 year plan. What do you really know at 20? At 21 I was married and thought I knew exactly where I was going. But 10 (okay, I mean - 20 years) later, where I thought I was going was NOT where I landed. But you know what? I'm glad, because I would never have gotten to where I am today if I would have stuck to my 20 year old thought process. You never know what curve balls, new pathways and obstacles life will throw at you. I think it is better to have ambitions and dreams and work really hard to achieve them, but be ready and open to accept what gets thrown your way.

So, after waxing poetic there for a minute, my bottom line is, at 20 you still have so much living to do and I think it's a bit much to expect someone at that age to have a 10 year plan.
  • Well, I am 23 & love your blog, so I'm happy to chime in here. :) My plan for 10 years from now is to still be happily married to my husband, still be plugged into a strong small group through a church, and continue to pursue my passions in marketing, blogging, and advertising and maybe even have a kid or 2, if my husband's lucky. haha!
