Its been what seems like forever since I did a not me Monday,
so I thought, what better time to do one than now- after a busy
holiday weekend filled with tons of things I would never do.

Let me kick off this not me Monday with my traditional affirmation….

-No! …for the 14,567th time… it was not me avoiding Mount Washmore & having to rewash 1 load 3 times… I am a changed woman since my last NMM. I do not do those kinds of lazy things anymore.

-This Tuesday, at 6am … it was not me who sent the Mr. out for the newspaper to see my nj.com blog post on Zachary Christie that ran in print…. …. … LAST Tuesday. Clearly, I would A- never be that dorky and B- never misinterpret an email that clearly stated it ran the prior week.

- Friday was date night, to go see “This is it“.. and It was not me who was left heavy hearted over the amazing show that could have been, but for the hard (sometimes unfair) life that was delt to this man who had such an amazing talent.

- Date night’s added bonus was the children having a sleep over at their Nana and Papa’s, so Mr.Complicated and I did not get thoroughly pissed off when our goal of sleeping til 10am childfree on Saturday was shattered by construction being started on our block– at 7:30 am… on a Saturday! …REALLY?

On the Halloween Front,

- I did not freak out in multiple costume stores when I could not find ANY accessories for either of the complicated boy’s costumes- Astroboy, and Michael Jackson. (Yea, my kid is too much of a trendsetter for Superman or a Ninja).

So… although I can see how you might be confused..

-It was not me, who you saw sweating bullets trying to make an “ASTRO BOY”
helmet of hair out of electrical tape, and astroboy shorts out of underoos because it would have been heartbreaking to tell The Complicated Boy that he could not be Astro Boy for his fall festival in school.

On that same note, I did not lite up like a Christmas tree when 2 little boys shouted

“ASTRO BOY” when we walked into his classroom, despite the fact that deep down I knew the costume was not anywhere near as impressive as my son thought it was.

-When filling up our basket for trick or treaters, I did not find that some how this month “Aunt Flo” got a hold of the Snickers bag – leaving it half empty.

-While its true my week was crazy… I still must tell you that there was no way you saw me in the car- on the way to a Halloween party, putting the final touches on The Complicated Princess’ – Pumpkin Princess tutu costume… No way. I am FAR more organized than that.

-You may have seen my little Michael Jackson boy running around donned in a jerry curl wig and thriller-zombie face but it was not me who was bordering on being a stage mom when I was trying to teach him the Thriller dance in our living room. (He said he was too “em-bay-rassed” so he refused…. but thats ok cause i did not try to teach him)

-Thanks to the wig I won on Delightful Chaos, Mr Complicated and I were Jon & Kate… but no, not even once did I channel my inner Kate, making Mr.Complicated reply “Ok Kate.” more than once

and last but not least,

In case you were wondering, no- It was not me who fall asleep while getting my first manicure in over 6 months, and had to leave before my nails were painted because I ran out of time… nor was it me taking 3 additional naps this weekend because I was running on Empty… I am chock-full-o-energy…. I would never get tired.. … Coffee Plzzzz..zzzzzzzz.

I'm impressed that you made an Astro Boy costume, no matter how bad it allegedly was.
Also, I want to see video of the "Thriller'' lesson.

Falling asleep during a manicure...you must be really tired! :) Sucks that you couldn't finish getting your nails done!
