Its been a soggy week here in New Jersey.

To me this rain means my weekly walking goals have been put on hold.

It means little league practices and games are being canceled.

To the Complicated Boy, it means he gets to break out his new favorite Batman attire and show over his Bat-Powers in the rain!

Let me explain.

We were recently sent Batman Rain Gear for review- by far some of the best quality rain gear I’ve seen might I add.

The Coat looks just like Batman’s suit complete with “muscle-age” and cape that can attach to the boy’s hands to flap in the wind. It has a great cotton lining that makes the rain coat not only great for keeping dry, but for keeping warm during the rain’s chilliness. The Bat-suit is topped off with matching rain boots and umbrella making this clearly the coolest (and most practical) of my sons “lets pretend” gear.

So as one can imagine, the Complicated Boy has been waiting patiently for the rain to arrive since the gear arrived and it would seem Mother Nature, had a sense of humor about it. We would get sprinkles here and there, but it seemed every time we put on the rain gear the sun came out! Could this be a magical raincoat I wondered?

It didn’t stop the boy from breaking in his gear.

He wore his raincoat into school on sunny days and was greeted with many pre-school Oooh’s! and Aaaah’s!

He wore his raincoat during play dates where they would play superheros, and he of course- would be Batman!

When he put on his Bat-slickers he became an instant celebrity around here. Fans flocked to his side and he welcomed the attention.

Then this weekend came… and alas it poured.

….3 cheers for rain!…. Hip! Hip!…. Hooorraay!….
