Today as the school bus pulled up, my son looked around the car in a panic and found he had forgotten his backpack (despite the fact that he had it in his hand before we walked out of the door) … again.
Now the boy is only in first grade. I get it. What can you do?
But I loath the series of events that unfold when I have to drive to school.
Revealing my early morning hot mess self to the world– a scene that is a well kept secret only known to family and our bus driver Mr. Bob.
Navigating the school parking lot like a game of Paper Boy
And last but certainly not least-
My 3 yr old’s early morning game of why that is always quickly prompted by any slight change in routine.
She is cute and adorable just like her forgetful brother and I love them both to pieces– but quite frankly 7:30am is too early for a game of why.
“Are we driving to school?”
Yes
“Why?”
Because R forgot his backpack
“Why?”
I’m not sure
“Why?”
Because I’m not R
“Why?”
Sweetie, Mommy’s brain doesn’t function before coffee
….. “Why?”
*sigh*
Because I said so! {GASP!}
