It’s no secret. One of the many things that make me a Complicated Mama is the fact that I am a serious wantaholic with mild shopaholic tendencies (Step 1)… and really, even if not on the surface, aren’t we all deep down inside?
In 2012 my well earned title of clotheshorse was only matched by my Zulily alerts and Sephora Beauty Insider points. It was bad, my friends. Bad. Yet, honestly? SO good.
So, to celebrate curb my Urge to Splurge in 2013– I have decided to start a new post series where I will share some of the things I am itching to purchase– kind of like window shopping with friends… that will convienently live right here on the bloggity-blog for anyone looking to buy me a gift for a holiday, my birthday, or you know, for simply being fabulous and raising your children {cough, cough …James.}.
3 things I should mention about this series:
1- You will find that my shopping urges know no boundries. I urge to splurge for the house, myself, the kids… the neighbor’s dogs.
2- This is not about high end designers… though its not, not about them either. My urge to splurge may encompass things from Kate Spade, to things from Target… and who knows in 2013 maybe Kate Spade for Target (now, wouldn’t that be amazing?).
3- While I cannot guarantee I will not purchase these items, I do solemnly swear that at the current moment that this post was published drafted- I have not.

1- Mossimo Cheeta Print Scarf , $14.99 Target – I purchased the Mossimo leopard print scarf this fall, and then while staying at my mother’s during Hurricane Sandy, my adorable baby sister (17) borrowed stole it and I never saw it again. Ok, I’m lying. I did see it again… when she wore it on Christmas and told me to buy a new one. Isn’t she cute?
2- Gumdrop Girls Dress by Beautees, $19.99 Zulily – Honestly, the only reason I didn’t splurge on this ridiculously cute ruffly number is because it didn’t come in Laina’s size. {whomp, whomp}. Don’t those colors just make you happy though?
3.- Graphic “Text Me” Tee by Little D’ Lascia, $9.99 Zulily – You guys, I wasn’t kidding about my Zulily obsession. At 7 years old, Ry thinks graphic t-shirts are the funniest thing in the world. Currently his favorites says “Oh, Gnome you didn’t” (with a picture of a garden gnome)… but this typewriter “text me” one would easily be my favorite.
4- Brenton Boot by Anne Klein, $189 Anne Klein – Instagram was the insti-gator of this one. Camel and cognac color boots are my weakness. When my every day attire is very casual, boots like these would go with so much. I could easily see myself wearing these 2-3 times a week… Did I just justify a purchase? I think I may have.
5- Buckel Up Double Rivet Wrap Bracelet, $88 Henri Bendel – Both bright neon colors and wrap bracelets are a big trend right now. This would be a great way to work in both without worrying about overdoing the neon.
6- Ombre Dalman Top, $17.99 Forever21 – I may be 32, but I take the name Forever21 quite literally. I still shop there. I’m not afraid to admit it. Granted I’m a larger size there than in any other store, but for cute inexpensive tops? Taking it home and cutting out the size tag is totally worth it.
7- Mac Makeup Forever Sand 11 – metallic tan eye glitter, Sephora $14.99 – While I’m still not entirely sure my pale skin can rock this awesome glitter shadow as well as Melissa Gorga did on RHONJ reunion, I am still curious to give it a try. What do you think? Too Vegas showgirl?
8- Mock Croc Quilted Satchel Bag, $69.00 Kardashian Kollection for Sears – How cute is this bag? While I love “designer” bags, I still tend to have snack crumbs and crayons that find their way to the bottom of my bags, so I also love big inexpensive bags for when I am traveling with the kiddos.
9- “I’d Rather Be Blogging Bib”, $12 CafePress – NO, I am not making any big announcements (sorry, Mom), which makes this urge to splurge a tad ridiculous… but this would surly make the perfect gift for bloggers that are expecting – or my daughter’s American Girl dolls. I mean, purchasing for either one of those would be a good idea- right?
