I would just like to start out this post by saying that most of the time when the hubby and I sit down to watch the Oscar’s we’ve only seen the animated films. This year, in addition to Brave and the animated short before Wreck-It Ralph, I am proud to say we saw 3 real-deal grown-up films– Les Miserables, Argo AND Life Of Pi! That is what parenting dreams are made of, my friends {Woot!!}
Ok. Let’t talk red carpet.
Oscar night is one of the most glamorous nights in Hollywood but, this year’s red carpet seem to be lacking a lot of the “WOW”-dresses that usually leave me green with envy. Was I alone?
Anne Hathaway was one celeb I was most looking forward to seeing and her pink Prada dress just seemed horribly bland (and I won’t even get into how wrong those pointy boobs were).
She still looked gorgeous (she can’t help it)- but the dress reminded me of a bridesmaid gown. I kind of hoped she would have gone a bit more dramatic for her Best Supporting Actress Nomination.
Of course, even with less “WOW” dresses, I still had favorites.
Here are my top 3 Red Carpet Oscar Looks and look a-likes :
1. Jennifer Garner’s Oscar Look
Jennifer’s plum-berry chiffon gown was AMAZING. I am obsessed with the color and the ruffles? … the necklace? Love, Love, Love! And you guys– You know she probably just slipped into that gorgeous gown after a day of chasing around little Violet and Seraphina. She is a hands on mama and just always looks effortlessly stunning at these red carpet events. I love that about her.

2. Jessica Chastain Oscar Look
I am a sucker for vintage and Jessica Chastain’s old hollywood glam look was smokin’ on the red carpet! From her hair, to her dress, to her perfect red lip color- GORGEOUS. She looked like a real-life Jessica Rabbit, don’t you agree?
3. Stacy Kiebler Oscar Look
Stacy’s gunmetal dress also had a classic hollywood feel to it with a gorgeous embellished pattern. (Seriously, George. Are you going to marry this one?)
The Jennifer’s (Lawrence, Aniston and Hudson) also looked great- but the 3 above were the stand outs for me.
