We have some big news to share here at the Complicated Chateau….

Baby number 3 (or Blueberry, as the kids call it) is on the way and due early November!
.The kids are OVER-THE MOON excited.

When we had Laina, Ryan was only 3 and didn’t really have an understanding as to what was going on. And while its of course nice to have kids close in age, there is something to be said about the kids being at an age (Ry now 8, Laina 4 1/2) where they are just as excited (or more) than we are!!
We told them one Sunday morning over breakfast….
When they opened it up Laina excitedly shouted “PRESENTS!!! The pink ones are mine!”
We asked Ryan to look at the sonogram picture and asked if he knew what it was. Slightly confused, he replied “A Flood?” …ha.
Yea, we had some explaining to do… but when they got it, it was all grins ear to ear and lots of “For real?”s
It was cute.
We have video that I’d share but um, my husband had vertical video syndrome and the conversation ended with a stunned 8 year old asking … “How did the baby get in your belly?” … and me looking to the camera man for help, to which he didn’t.
The kids couldn’t wait to share the news, so we announced baby #3 to our parents over Easter by delivering a special dessert.
We kind of love having fun with the whole baby announcement thing if you couldn’t tell. Baby #1… Baby #3, I say every baby is a celebration and should be announced with some excitement ;)
As for me? No nausea, but the exhaustion this time around has been debilitating. I had exhaustion with Ry, but this time? ALL NEW LEVELS, my friends. ALL. NEW . LEVELS . Of course not to over look the obvious, my husband did point out that I am “older” this time around.
We’ll give him a pass… he is a saint in picking up the extra slack as we attempt to pack up the house for our move, and all I want to do is sleep. :)
The good news though, is that the first trimester is almost behind me… (and thank God for that) and this week I am feeling back to my old self.
