As my family gear up for our 10-day west coast road trip, it occurred to me that this is the very first year we don’t have to pack floaties for our daughter.
She’s been taking swim lessons all summer, and has finally gained the confidence to swim around like a little fish, floatie-free.
It’s a good thing, not just because knowing how to swim is an essential skill but because, well… as a party of 5 packing it down the Pacific Coast Highway, I don’t anticipate having an inch of space in that car to spare! (Ha)
That being said, for this week’s Sunday Swoon I wanted to share with you all, what we’ve found to be the very best kids floaties around.
Puddle Jumpers
What makes them so great?
Unlike blow-up swimmies that many are use to, Puddle Jumpers have fabric covered floatation pieces around the arms and chest which keeps kids upper body level and above the water, no bobbing heads like traditional swimmies, which gives kids the confidence to swim around on their own.
Puddle Jumpers are easy on, easy off. Kids put it on like a jacket and parents can secure it in the back with an adjustable clasp and parents can get remove the the jacket just as easy.
We always kept two on hand. One for our daughter and one for anyone who might be visiting and after 2 years let me tell you, those things are WORN OUT to the max! Next year, Avery will be walking all over the place and eager to join his brother and sister in the pool, so we will definitely be getting a new one for him.
Puddle Jumpers are available in a ton of different colors and designs. They retail for approx.$20-$25 and are available at Walmart, Target and Amazon.
