I’ve never been much of a card gal. I don’t do cards. Not Easter, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day… none of those. And if you are my best friend…. Mother.. or Mother-In-Law who are all way more proactive in the card department than I am.. you have reluctantly come to accept this and love me anyway. It’s who I am.
However, the one card they can always count on from me is our family Christmas card. This card-grinch’s heart grows 10 sizes at Christmas. But still- without fail- for one reason or another, every year our Christmas cards are close to the wire. EV-E-RY YEAR.
I don’t know why I even stress out about it. It’s become part of our holiday tradition, really– like Advent calendars, Elf-On-The-Shelf and fruitcake… ok, maybe not the fruitcake (does anyone really eat those things?)
Anyway, this year my cards went out 4 days before Christmas– which means that my friends on the West Coast probably won’t be receiving them until after the holiday…. So today, to “make-good” on my tardiness- I started playing around with HP’s Print Your Heart Out card generator and leaving them virtual cards on Facebook they can print themselves (ensuring they can have a physical card on their fridge before St. Nick comes to town).
I ended up having so much fun with it, I left cards for local friends too- just for kicks. I mean… I make one damn cute reindeer if I do say so myself!
Then I made this one for my friends who I knew would think I was spamming their walls like some Farmville addict–
And then just because teenagers are so easily embarrassed, I thought it would be fun to leave this one for my teenage brother and sister–
Oh…snaps!
Ok, so while I admit I am easily amused– If you’re freaking out because you haven’t mailed your holiday card yet (and really, you should be– um 3 days, people!)… the HP Print Your Heart Out app can save the day- (Twitpic it to me! )
Also, if you need gift tags in a pinch or coloring pages to keep the little ones occupied before its present time… HP’s Inkology has those to print as well… and just sayin’ coloring pages? Save me on a daily basis. For real, for some reason my kids get more excited over coloring pages than toys (not that that stopped Santa from buying).
