Mother’s Day is next week! Are you ready? Yea, me neither. But, ladies– we have to make our lists!
We have to because there are some seriously terrible ideas being advertised as “Mom Must haves” out there.
Case in point: I was pitched a kid’s play tent for Mother’s day. It read – “Just make Mom’s life easier!”
…. {pause} … No. Just no.
Unless I’m simultaneously having a baby shower on Mother’s Day, a kid/baby play tent is never a good idea for a Mother’s Day gift…. and for the record, it will never, ever make my life “easier”.
You see ladies, an email like that could have very well landed in our husband’s inbox – and there is a chance that they would have hit that purchase button.
It’s true, it is the thought that counts– and all gifts are purchased with the best of intentions… but sometimes when it comes to gift buying in general, lets be honest– we can all use a little “steering”.
So in case anyone (::cough:: James ::cough::) who is buying this Mom or any other Modern-Day Mama a Mother’s Day gift happens to be perusing the site, I though I would drop some “subtle” hints… and maybe give you a few ideas for your list along the way.
Mother’s Day… Un-Complicated
1. Perfume. Refills of a favorite scent are always welcome, am I right? Make sure your man knows yours. My current signature scent is Viktor & Rolf’s Flower Bomb– And not to sound too 1992, but quite frankly – it is da’ bomb. My sister-in-law & brother-in-law got it for me for my birthday, and well…. this mama’s runnin’ low.

2. Maxi Dresses. Maxi Dresses are a summer wardrobe staple… and being pregnant myself, I plan on living in them! Now, I know guys can be gun-shy when it comes to purchasing clothes for their leading ladies, but Maxi dresses are fool proof– especially a solid color one.
Here are a few maternity maxi-dresses I’ve been eyeing….You know, just throwing it out there.
3. Phone accessories. There are some great accessories and products out there for my fellow iPhone-photog-mamas. There are great lenses, and even books and things you can make from your Instagram account– all great gifts for Mother’s Day.

4. Sandals. Flip-flops, wedges,…. all great items to add to your Mother’s day wish list. I love wedge sandals in the summer time but I have to say that I’m crushing on the gladiator flats I’ve been seeing around.
5. Books For Mom By Mom. There are some great new books out written by some very wise and hilarious Moms, add em’ to the list!

7. Make-up. We know Bruno is right, we are beautiful just the way we are… but what girl doesn’t love to get lost in Sephora every now and then. Sephora and Ulta gift cards, cosmetic organizers… all great gift ideas to add to add to that list, my friends.
Oh, and incase you were wondering, “But what Make-up items would make you swoon, Corine?”…. The answer is simple… and cheap!
8. Accessories. Sure diamonds are a girls best friend of course, but a girl can never have enough fashion jewelry.
