The other day I received a text message from my friend and bride-to-be, Amy, telling me it’s almost that time to get fitted for my bridesmaid dress. *yikes!* I was not ready for that.
It seemed like just yesterday she asked me to be in her wedding (how cute is that card by the way?)– When I thought, “oh, I’ll have plenty of time to get into shape after the baby.” How did it creep up on me so quickly? I’ve barely (read: haven’t) even began going back to the gym. I have 10 lbs of “baby weight” left to lose and who knows how many inches. And although, it seems a little silly to use weddings and one-day type events as a motivator, there is no doubt that it helps!
{Re}Building Healthy Habits

It takes 21 days of doing something to create a habit.
So, this week I’m taking back control with Team Kellogg’s by focusing on 21 days to re-vamp and re-build not just my eating habits, but my family’s as well. Because it’s not about losing weight for just one day, its about feeling good (and energized to keep up with 3 little people) and because somewhere amongst the holidays, the kids seem to have swapped out their baby carrots for cookies.
We need to start adding more of those healthy snacks back into their day. So we’ve stocked up on water, set up a basket filled with grapes, bananas, baby carrots and apples so they can pick their fruit or veggie of choice throughout the day. We are ready!
Every day for 21 days, James and I will be working on drinking 8 glasses of water, and the kids will be working on having a fruit or veggie with every meal.
Looking to build better habits for you and your family? Download and print the below chart from Team Kellogg’s! It’s a great way to keep track of your progress over the 21 days and the kids will think its a game! The chart marks off when you are 1/3 and 2/3 of the way there, celebrate those milestones along the way to make it even more fun.
