I’m a day late with this post. I meant to post yesterday… but had a lounge- bake-nap kind of of day. Hell, I had a lounge-bake-nap kind of weekend, which really was part of my down fall in week 2.

The bigger part of my dieting downfall?
Tropicana– and I’m not talking orange juice, I’m talking Atlantic City.
Friday, Mr. Complicated and I took a kid-free trip with friends. It was fun. We went to Carmine’s to mangia, the guys gambled (and did not hit jackpot), and we sang karaoke…. and, well- when you are having fun with friends, who wants to count points?… especially when you are drinking them.
Social gatherings seem to be the bain of my- dieting-existence. I can have the most stellar week (which I was- counted all points AND 4 Zumba classes!) – but once that weekend hits and we have a party, a get together with friends…. dinner at Carmine’s (hello! family style!)… it all goes out the window. Getting into the mindset of dieting outside of my controlled environment is hard because for some reason, I equate social fun with food… and cocktails.
So really, it came as no surprise that- this week?
I lost a whopping… 0 lbs. Infact, I gained .6
Not very motivating, I know.
::sigh::
I want to blame it on my weekend at the Tropicana… but in reality it was me, and I kind of need to own that.
I ate the penne vodka, … the chicken parm, … the ham and cheese omlette in the morning that I laughably attempted to justify with getting egg whites.
It also doesn’t help that I have caught the baking bug. I think I am Duff from Charm City Cakes or something. I don’t know what’s gotten into me (too much reality TV?). I have been playing with frosting all week- and Cake decorating is quite addicting. I even played with fondant – how fancy am I ? And while I have done a great job of not eating my creations, pawning them off on the neighbor’s teenage sons, and tossing many in the garbage… I have had a “taste” of each batch of frosting- which were all delicious by the way… but, I imagine is not point free.
In short, this week was big fat (pun intended) #FAIL.
I always hated that person in the Weight Watchers meetings who would brag about how they ordered the side salad and grilled chicken at Applebee’s over the weekend while their friends noshed on french fries and burgers (psh! whatev… what was she trying to prove?) , but perhaps she urked me so much because I secretly envyed their self control. I mean how do you pass on appetizers when dining with friends? I want to be that person. (Gasp! did I just say that?)
This week my plan of action is to channel miss annoying “side salad over fries” lady … and/or lock myself in the house…. without any confectioners sugar.
That should work- right?
