Last week while in Disney World with the fam, I had a revelation- I’m fat.
Again.
I’m not sure when it happened- but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t know HOW it happened.
I gave up. I stopped looking in mirrors. I fashioned my clothes to hide the gut. I was in denial.
I’ve blogged before about how I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life. How had 8 lbs left of baby weight I’ve been fighting to lose– since this blog started… 3 years ago. It’s non-sense. And now I’ve packed on another 10.
I’m typically good about what I eat, preparing meals and eating healthy the way Weight Watchers taught me so many years ago- but this time, it just wasn’t working. It wasn’t the program- the core values of it hadn’t changed- but I had.
Taking care of a family, working from home, scheduling play dates and adjusting to playing referee to my children’s new found game of sibling rivalry- has been hectic. My 24 hour days feel more like 6…. a long,… tiring- 6. So as my daily to-do list was expanding… so was my ass- because I didn’t have time to plan my meals the way I should, I didn’t feel like I was in control.
So I decided to change that- and this time, I’m not just talking about it- I’m showing it all in pictures and vlogs- because I’m not above using the chance of self-humiliation and embarrassment to get me to my goal… I kid, I kid.
Well partially.
I am doing it to hold myself accountable- but also to share what I learn along the way, and maybe inspire some others who are also feeling out of control of their eating habits.
To kick-start me, I have signed up for (read: not sponsored) 28 days with Freshology Get-Slim Gold. A program that prepares fresh, all natural meals for you and sends them to you every 4 days. The program is based on an 1100-1350 calorie diet.
My journey starts Monday- “Only 18 lbs to go!”
